Steve O’Connell
Grosvenor

As Chief Executive of Grosvenor Property Americas, Steve steers the strategic direction for investment, development, and financing endeavors across North America. Joining Grosvenor in 2011, Steve's leadership saw him appointed to the Americas Board in 2018, followed by his ascension to Chief Executive in 2019.

During his tenure, Steve spearheaded Grosvenor’s Development team in San Francisco, successfully establishing a multifamily program before assuming the role of Managing Director, Investment in 2015. In this capacity, he oversaw investment and co-investment activities across North America.

Steve's academic background includes a B.Eng. degree from McGill University and an MBA from UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business. Actively engaged in industry leadership, he serves as a Global Governing Trustee of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and is affiliated with ULI's National Mixed-Use Development Council. Additionally, Steve contributes his expertise as an Executive Committee and Board member of UC Berkeley’s Fisher Center Policy Advisory Board and as a member of the Bay Area Council Board of Directors.
