  We are proud and honored to welcome Rich Lyons, the 12th Chancellor of the University of California, Berkeley, as this year’s keynote speaker. A distinguished Berkeley alumnus and former Dean of the Haas School of Business, Chancellor Lyons has spent his career championing innovation, collaboration, and academic excellence. His return to lead the university is a powerful reflection of his enduring commitment to public education and the transformative spirit of the Berkeley community.

  Throughout his illustrious career, Chancellor Lyons has been a steadfast supporter of the real estate programs at Cal. During his tenure at Haas, he played a pivotal role in expanding the reach and impact of the Fisher Center for Real Estate and Urban Economics, creating new pathways for students, alumni, and industry leaders to engage in meaningful real estate research and education.   Join us for the Real-Estate Developer 101 Panel - a session designed to break down the development process in a simple, practical way. We’ll walk through the lifecycle of a project, the key players involved, and even dive into a real-world use-case.

  • What it means to be a real-estate developer
  • How real-estate developers work with investors, architects, and contractors
  • The steps from site selection to project completion
