Andrew Friedman Andrew Friedman has built an impressive career in the institutional real estate industry over the past 33 years. He began his academic journey at the University of California, Berkeley, earning a B.A. in Economics, followed by an M.B.A. from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA. Mr. Friedman's professional career started at Lend Lease Real Estate Investments, where he was a principal responsible for overseeing capital transactions and asset management assignments throughout the Western United States. In 2003, when Morgan Stanley acquired Lend Lease's Real Estate Investment Management business, he continued in his role at Morgan Stanley before transitioning to Shorenstein Properties in 2004. At Shorenstein Properties, Mr. Friedman spent 17 years overseeing the Western US Investment Management Group. His responsibilities included investments, asset management, development, and leasing. He played a pivotal role in asset acquisitions and dispositions totaling over $6 billion and was a key member of the firm's investment committee. He concluded his tenure with Shorenstein in early 2021. After leaving Shorenstein, Mr. Friedman co-founded Amarok Capital alongside Mr. Seifer, Mr. Wolmark, and his brother, Matthew Friedman. Mr. Friedman remains actively involved in several real estate organizations, including the Urban Land Institute, the UC Berkeley Fisher Center for Real Estate & Urban Economics, Lambda Alpha International, and the Berkeley Real Estate Alumni Advisory Board |
