From Campus to Clubhouse: An Evening at the Prescott & the Oakland Ballers (July 09, 2026)

Join BREAA for an immersive evening in West Oakland with a guided tour of the Prescott, an eight-building R&D campus redefining how innovation, makerspace, and community converge.

Developed by srmErnst Development Partners, Prescott West Oakland is a thoughtfully repositioned industrial campus that blends adaptive reuse with new construction, creating a dynamic environment for creative production, research, and collaboration.

Laura Billings, Principal and BREAA Advisory Board Member will guide us through the development with an overview of the campus’s origin and vision, followed by a walkthrough of 2–3 representative spaces that showcase its flexible design, tenant mix, and role in shaping West Oakland’s evolving innovation ecosystem. The tour will conclude at Prescott Market, the campus’s central gathering place, where curated food, retail, and programming bring energy and activation to the broader development.

Guests are invited to stay for a hosted happy hour at Prescott Market, with the option to continue the evening nearby at an Oakland Ballers game, offering a distinctly local close to the experience.

Are you considering a significant career move, working toward a promotion, or thinking about launching your own venture? The Career Advancement Workshop offers a confidential, peer-based setting for candid reflection, practical career planning, and focused feedback from fellow professionals.

Designed for professionals navigating their next stage of growth, this workshop will help participants clarify priorities, examine assumptions, and leave with a more actionable career plan. Participants will begin with a TriMetrix HD leadership assessment facilitated by Berkeley Haas MBA and executive business coach Steve Terusaki that offers insights into What, Why and How we do the things we do.

Then, 2024 LinkedIn Top Voice Jeanel Carlson presents, Own Your Story: Elevate Your LinkedIn Presence with AI, which shows how AI filters evaluate your profile before a human ever calls and the high-ROI adjustments that build trust. Attendees will receive complimentary access to ProfileLift, Jeanel’s AI tool that audits LinkedIn profiles in minutes.

Combined, the workshop delivers more than $500 in value for the cost of registration.

Leadership Assessment Highlights:

Personal Leadership Profile Evaluation: Before the event, attendees will complete the TriMetrix HD personal leadership profile evaluation. Results will be provided at the workshop and will give each participant a practical foundation for understanding leadership strengths, development areas, and career priorities.

How TriMetrix HD will support your workshop experience: TriMetrix HD will help participants arrive with a clearer view of how they communicate, what motivates them, where they may have natural leadership strengths, and where blind spots or assumptions may be influencing career decisions. During the workshop, those insights will help make the presentation and small-group discussions more personal, concrete, and actionable, so attendees can connect self-awareness to specific next steps in their career plans.

Important Deadline: Attendees must complete the TriMetrix HD evaluation by 5pm on Friday, July 17 so the results can be incorporated into the event. Results will be used in aggregate and anonymously to help inform the workshop content, without identifying individual participants.

Past participants described the workshop as a “high-quality event” with “impactful workshop-style activities.” Attendees especially valued the breakout groups, noting that the conversations provided “valuable perspective when considering my career plans.” One participant shared, “I took insights directly into my job search and landed a great new gig—one of the top three BREAA events of the year!”

This year’s workshop builds on that momentum with a sharper emphasis on personal leadership insight, practical career plan development, and peer feedback in an intimate group setting. We also added a featured session on personal branding and AI visibility, giving participants the tools to activate their leadership story on LinkedIn, where opportunities are won.

Steve Terusaki, Executive Business Coach

Steve Terusaki is an executive business coach who works with business leaders to help them find their own “right path” for leadership success. His coaching process is grounded in active listening and dynamic inquiry, helping leaders uncover the assumptions and beliefs that can prevent action on the matters that are most important in their lives.

Steve founded SEIDO Consulting, LLC after more than 30 years in the architecture, planning, and engineering industry. He has led organizations through growth and change, built systems for client service, and held multiple C-suite roles, including Chief Administrative Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Executive Officer. He has coached leaders in corporate and nonprofit organizations, with a special interest in authenticity, self-awareness, and effective leadership.

Steve holds an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, an MLA in Landscape Architecture from the University of Michigan, and a BA with High Honors in Asian Studies and Environmental Biology from UC Santa Barbara. He is certified as a business coach by Trusted Advisors Network and is certified to offer behavior assessments from TTI.
